Piano Compositions
Here are some original compositions that I've written, played and posted on youtube. They were mostly inspired by movies or travels to places.
Hope you enjoy listening.
1. The Invasion
Inspired by Sci-fi alien movies, hence the title. Something magical happens in the beginning but in the end, we are plunged into the unknown.
I am currently working on an orchestral mock-up for this composition. Stay-tuned.
2. The Journey
Inspired by the movie 'The Painted Veil' starring Naomi Watts and Edward Norton.
3. Pantomime
A Pantomime on the streets of Paris act out a love story of two star-crossed lovers. Inspired by the love story in Moulin Rouge, starring Nicole Kidman and Ewan McGregor. I am currently working on an orchestral mock-up for this composition with the accordian as the lead instrument. Stay-tuned.
4. Cry!freedom
Poverty led to men in the family moving to a new land in hope for a better job and future for their family. Instead, they face the pain and torture of their 'newly-found' freedom at a distant land, exploited for manual labour and tortured. They realise that they are trapped and are not able to go back to be with their loved ones and family.
5. 雨傘
Original Mandarin composition which was a the first runner-up for the Spop Hurray Songwriting competition titled 'Umbrella' in Mandarin.
It talks about a young lady's first love with a boy she met on a rainy day as he lent her an umbrella while she was stranded at a bus stop.
She never sees him again but keeps the umbrella in hope that he will one day return for her.
